Death Fire post 3

The man drifted down from the fog to Mrs. Colette’s cabin. He waited until I had cleared it. Then as the rescue vehicle took the remains to Conners funeral Home. He stepped up to me, quiet as the shadows, that grew long on the wall.
His tears in his eyes. “Please tell me? She was my Aunt. ”
“Are you Joshua Davis?”
Ina Collette had talked often about her nephew Joshua. The military man that had come back to see about her after a heart attack.
When she spoke of him you could tell how proud she was of him.
He stood six foot, two hundred pounds. Dark hair and eyes. His arms could have belonged to a lumberjack the made me think of trees.
“Are you Joshua Davis?”
