I received a call for interview for in the morning on Thursday. However, trying not to get my hopes up. But need prayer for it to happen. I sure don’t want to be stuck as a truck owner again. Which is where I am heading if I don’t get this job.
Keep your fingers crossed please. I have been passed over for more experience so far.
Oh well it’s where God wants me. So It’s not my discussion.
Recently as you all know I joined the family of published authors at Boroughs publishing Group. I have been doing my best to show my support to all the Boroughs Family. But I have to tell you what happened to me.
I was contacted by a woman from another publishing company. I have known her for better than ten years. Who gave me a stern talking to because She didn’t think I had any right what so ever to be supporting anyone.1.) because it wasn’t in Christian publishing, and I had better realize that If I didn’t write Christian fiction I would never get anywhere with my career. I was informed that it didn’t do anyone any good to support members of their publishing group. Because no one ever showed any love back. “They don’t encourage any one they are just out for themselves.”
Well excuse me. But I’m taking exception to this. I told the woman that I was sorry that she felt left out. But was it really the support she objected to or the fact she was jealous because someone had gotten the recognition she thought it should have been hers.
People Lets face fact there is enough respect to go around. It doesn’t matter whether its Christian, thrillers, horror or poetry. We all have to pull together. I’ll be honest sure I’d like to have more attention by my fellow authors. However, I have to earn that right.
No One likes being left out. But this isn’t High School. Professionalism is important in our work. So we all need to act like one. This is a career that has to be worked constantly. So To whoever has won an award, got their name in a news letter, Newspaper, or Just needs a “Atta Boy”. You have one from me. PLEASE PAY IT FORWARD.
Writers are a unusual little birds. They work in the day and at night. They live in their imagination. They bring out their pent up frustrations from childhood and make them come to life as if nothing ever happened. A completely frustrating day that would make most people go on the rampage like a mailroom worker standing on a water tower with an automatic weapon. A writer takes it and uses it for fodder in their story. HOWEVER in their minds–The female protagonist may still be on top of the water tower making the Hunky Hero climb to the top to keep her from jumping (in his mind). He gets to the top to find out that she is waiting for him with water pistol full of green beer because it’s St. Patrick’s Day.
Writers look at life through a different eye. Where people will see nothing but stopped traffic for miles due to a car wreck. Writers see the bridge out so the traffic can’t move and they see a huge Semi-truck with a huge snowblade pushing them over the edge into a pile of marshmallow fluff.
Writers handle story conversations as they are going into town by talking to themselves. You begin to realize that you have sat at a stoplight for ten minutes because you’re having a fight with the man of your book. Once you get it worked out and figured how everything is going to work. The story is perfect, but you come to realization you don’t have a clue where you going or what you were supposed to be doing.
Yes, we as writers are strange little birds, That’s why we wear t-shirts that say,
Recently, I had a discussion with a good friend.about my attitude. And while I agree that my attitude hasn’t been the best. Worrying about jobs, income and such the one thing I have never been worried about is where I stood with our lord.
Okay we all have bad moods. We all have attitudes. That doesn’t mean we are missing a thing that GOD tells us. So Please world before you start telling someone that their attitude is keeping them from missing out on the teachings of our Lord. Please be very sure of what your saying.
I found out that with my attitude that i’m much more aware of the Lord’s teachings. I question everything in my life but one and THAT IS WHERE I STAND WITH THE LORD.
So before you tell someone else how to live their lives be sure of what you say. Don’t make them question the one thing that they have never questioned.
The Words Written in RED of the Greatest Story ever.
Thank you Tami for making me come to terms with a few things by posting the above picture.
There are so many things that I could use right now. But here is a list that matters most.
My Faith in Our Lord Jesus to be stronger with each passing day.
Everyone to have a safe and prosperous year, (military, Government and anyone that is ill)
For the unemployed to find jobs (those without jobs, those coming out of school those waiting on their certifications.)
Everyone to have their dreams come true. Be it writer’s getting their first story Sold, or taking that trip to climb Mount Everest. Go live those dreams.
May our Children know that a) their parents love them, B.) I f they have left home may they find their way back home and Those that are missing be remembered for ever.
May our Parents that are ill either physically or in some cases mentally find the health they need, and may they also realize that their families love them.
Yes I could make be noise about what I need. But what I need. may sound over used and folks Christmas is over But I’m going to say it anyway.
Let’s have some Peace on Earth and Good will to men. Bless us all everyone.~ thank you Charles Dickens.
